Travel to Sabha – Traditional Desert Town
Built on a sand area next to a picturesque lake and surrounded by palm trees with dates, Sabha is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Libya. Here you can visit castles as well as take part in a number of adventure activities such as camel riding.
Located in southwestern Libya in a Saharan oasis, Sabha was historically the capital of the Fezzan region and is now the capital of the Sabha municipality.
The city is famous for its Sabha castle which is featured on the reverse of the ten dinars banknote of Libya. This castle is the former Fortezza Margherita which was built during the Italian colonial period and it is currently a military institution.
Traditional camel riding is one of the most popular activities that visitors cam enjoy while in Sabha. However, it is become equally popular to hire a jeep in order to explore the surrounding area.
