Dar Bartha Ethnographical Museum
The very gracious Hispano-Moorish Batha palace, the former summer palace of Moulay Hassan I, was converted into a museum in 1915. It houses a sumptuous collection of traditional art including pottery and superb ceramics decorated with the famous Fès blue, fine embroidery made in Fès, jewellery and Berber carpets.
There is also a delicate collection of enamelled faïence tiles dating from the twelfth to fourteenth century, sculpted stucco, zelliges, astrolabes, illuminated Korans and several examples of moucharrabiés. Take advantage of the neighbouring Andalusian garden to enjoy a few moments of refreshing coolness.
