Travel to Nampula – The Third Largest City in Mozambique

Nampula is the capital city of Nampula Province in Mozambique and the third largest city in Mozambique after Maputo and Beira. It is also the center of business in northern Mozambique and despite having several hotels and restaurants it is not a main tourist destination. However, it does have several notable attractions including museums, markets and cathedrals.

Most visitors come to Nampula to catch transport to either Tanzania, Malawi or Cuamba in Mozambique. However, there are also a few shops to look at as well as some markets.

Relax in one of the numerous restaurants which serve international food as well as top class seafood. There are even restaurants where you can watch the sport on television.

It is best to get around on foot or by hire car as there’s several car rental firms represented in the area. The town is also connected with Cuamba by rail.
