Monkeys at Shai Hills

Shai Hills Reserve is a conservation area in the Shai Hills showcasing Ghana’s commitment to the preservation of the nations heritage and wildlife.

Troops of Baboons live in the reserve and parrots, ground hornbill and kob antelope can also be spotted.

The reserve has several caves which were once places of worship for the local Shai people until they were moved on in the British Colonial era – hey are now home to bat colonies.
