Place Faidherbe

Colonial St Louis

Located in the heart of colonial St. Louis island, Place Faidherbe is a must-see attraction for any traveller visiting St. Louis.  In the middle of the place is a small park with a statue of Faidherbe, the famous French colonial governor, resting in front of the Governor’s Palace. The Place is flanked on the north and south by Rognat Casernes, splendid houses built in 1837.
