Itinerary

DAY 1: Nairobi – Maji Moto

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport. Travel North-West with a stop over at Great Rift Valley Escarpment view point followed by continued travel West via Narok town to reach Maji Moto village for lunch. Afternoon spent with Maasai-tribesman on guided walking safari on Loita Hills. End up your day with fire making and camp fire stories.

Overnight at Maji Moto Eco Camp (L,D)

Nestled on a hilltop deep in Masai lands and overlooking vast savannah plains, Maji Moto Eco Camp is a small, environmentally-sensitive retreat.

Operated by Masai people from the nearby village of Maji Moto, a stay here will immerse you not only in the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills, but also in the ancient culture and knowledge of the Masai.

The Masai have a great respect for the environment and all the creatures they share it with, and so Maji Moto Eco Camp has been designed to be part of the environment, constructed in a simple, natural and ecologically-friendly way.

Day 2: Maji Moto

Nestled on a hilltop deep in Maasai lands and overlooking vast savannah plains, Maji Moto Eco Camp is a small, environmentally-sensitive retreat. Operated by Maasai people from the nearby village of Maji Moto, a stay here will immerse you not only in the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills, but also in the ancient culture and knowledge of the Maasai. Full day activities will be organized for you that day. Starting early in the morning with Loita Plains for Wildlife tracking Safari. These plains host numerous wildlife like: giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, eland… as well as many different bird species. Your local Maasai guide will be your field guide full of interesting facts of wildlife and nature that you will meet while on walk. Afternoon spent at camp either relaxing and enjoying the view and nature surrounding the camp or join the Maasai Warrior training; measuring skills in Sasol stick fighting, spear throwing and archery.

Day 3: Maji Moto – Masai Mara

After breakfast depart to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, most probably the highlight of your trip! Game drive en route to your camp with afternoon game drive till evening following BIG FIVE at this world`s prime wild reserve.

Overnight at Matira Bush Camp (Standard Tents) (B,L,D)

Matira Bush Camp is under the guidance of local management. The team consists of local Masai with years of experience as safari guides. Their vision is to introduce you to a pure and authentic experience of the African bush and wild life.

The camp has 7 tents with two beds per tent. Hot water shower and toilets are available just outside the tents.

The Masai guides will be happy to take you on a short walking safari in the area around the camp. By prior arrangement they can also arrange bush breakfast, lunch, sundowners or dinner in the middle of nature.

Day 4: Masai Mara

Morning & Afternoon game drive at these exceptional wilderness, an Africa`s prime wildlife reserve with the biggest population of lions. Masai Mara also hosts yearly event (June-October) “Great Wildebeest migration”. An amazing spectacle when millions of wildebeest migrate from Serengeti in search for greener pastures. OPTIONAL: Hot-air Balloon flight can be organized with prior arrangements!

Day 5: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

Early morning safari followed by departure towards one of the lakes of Great Rift Valley – Lake Naivasha. Afternoon spent at lake-side leisure in beautiful surroundings of Acacia Trees observing numerous spices of bird life and Hippos in the water. The same day we shall take you to near by Lake Oloiden where with a little bit of luck you can see big flocks of Flamingos as well as more Hippopotamuses.

Overnight at Cornelleys New Banda (B,L,D)

Each BANDA comfortably sleeps up to 6 and has an en-suite bathroom. Bedding, blankets, lamps & mosquito nets are provided. A private garden is there also and has it’s own garden furniture to help make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Other facilities are – “Lazybones” bar and restaurant, Laundry facilities, Live music, Satellite TV, Games room, Darts board, Pool table.

Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli

Travel further South via Nairobi towards Kilimanjaro to Amboseli National Park. Afternoon game drive at the foot of Africa`s tallest mountain – Kilimanjaro (5895m). Spectacular park for observing large herds of Elephants, Giraffe, Zebra… against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro.

Overnight at Kibo Safari Camp (B,L,D)

Situated within the Amboseli National Reserve Kibo Safari Camp is set only five minutes drive from the park entry gate and 15 kilometers from Amboseli airstrip. set at the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Amboseli National Park in Kenya

Facilities: spa, conference facilitiesopen terraced restaurant and bar under acacia trees, swimming pool, Gift/Souvenir Shop, massage parlour and 71 self contained spacious tents sheltered by ‘makuti’ roofs and the comfortable beds and furniture are locally made tastefully with bush logs and the tents decorated with African rustic furniture.

Day 7: Amboseli – Tsavo West

Early morning game drive followed by travel to Tsavo. Enroute visit Shetani lava flow & Mzima springs, Afternoon game drive at Tsavo West National Park. In combination with Tsavo East the biggest National Park in Kenya.

Overnight at Rhino Valley Lodge (B,L,D)

12 standard room in bandas and 10 luxury rock rooms, bar, restaurant. The rooms are built and furnished with natural local materials.

Day 8: Tsavo West – Rukinga Ranch

After an early breakfast depart on game drive visiting “Rhino Sanctuary” en route. Before reaching Kenyan Coast you will stop at Rukinga Ranch. At these exclusive Wildlife Sanctuary you will spend an afternoon with in-house naturalist – guide who will take you through their educational wildlife centre to learn how to track wildlife on foot, identify animal spore & tracks, as well as basic bush craft skills. Finish off your last day of safari in-style with Champagne-Sundowner from fantastic view over African bush before departing back for dinner and winding down the day by camp fire at these private house.

Day 9: Rukinga Ranch – Diani Beach

Following late breakfast travel further South-East, down to sandy beaches of Indian Ocean at Diani Beach. At that stage you will leave African bushes, plains and safari by driving down to the coast via Shimba Hills tropical forest where you will soon see and smell always warm waters of Indian Ocean. Spend your Afternoon at beach leisure.

Overnight at Pinewood Beach Resort 4-5* (Standard room) (B,D)

Pinewood Resort has 58 rooms built as separate bungalows with two rooms upstairs and a Suite room downstairs. All rooms have a veranda, air-conditioning, ceiling fan and bathroom with toilet and shower. Suites are bigger with a living room, mini bar and kitchen where your personal cook will cook and serve dinner prepared just for you. Pinewood village has a swimming pool with built in bar, restaurant, beach bar and snack bar.

Day 10: Diani Beach

Beach leisure; OPTIONAL: Diani Beach excursions can be arranged with prior arrangements.
